Editorial Board Guidelines
- PURPOSE
This guideline aims to standardize the operations of periodical or one-time printed/electronic journals published by the Society or jointly with scientific/professional organizations.
- FORMATION OF EDITORIAL BOARDS
- Chief editor, executive editor, and assistant editors are appointed for a three-year term.
- Upon completion of term, members may reapply. The Executive Board announces the call for candidates.
- The Executive Board selects the chief/executive editor, considering editorial experience and availability.
- Assistant editors are appointed jointly by the new chief editor and the Executive Board.
- Additions or removals from the international editorial board require editor proposal and Board approval.
- Reviewers continue as assigned. Repeated refusal to review (five times) may result in removal.
- These rules apply to all print or digital publications.
- ENFORCEMENT DATE AND DURATION
Effective from January 1, 2017. Valid until a new directive is issued.
- EXECUTION
This directive is executed by the Executive Board of the Turkish Society of Thoracic Surgery.
