The mission of the Turkish Society of Thoracic Surgery (TSTS) is to support the advancement of the thoracic surgery specialty and to foster professional, scientific, and social collaboration among those working in the field. To achieve this, the society aims to:

a. Organize national and international scientific events (such as congresses, seminars, panels, symposiums, and training courses) and publish materials to monitor and share recent developments in thoracic surgery both in Türkiye and abroad.
b. Conduct research and projects within Türkiye, develop solutions for current problems in the field, and contribute to the education of patients and the general public.
c. Plan and support pre-graduate, residency, and postgraduate training in thoracic surgery, organize training programs to enhance and standardize education, and establish health facilities for practical applications.
d. Collaborate with national and international thoracic surgery organizations, subject to legal regulations and required permissions.
e. Invite researchers, educators, and speakers from abroad when necessary.
f. Support, guide, and reward researchers and their projects in the field of thoracic surgery.
g. Strengthen relationships among members and generate income for the society through cultural and social activities (e.g., raffles, balls, concerts, trips, fairs, exhibitions, sports competitions, etc.), and establish social venues.
h. Acquire, rent, lease, or sell movable and immovable properties as needed to support the society’s goals and activities.
